Redemption frequency

Redemptions and liquidity · a SIF concept, explained from SEBI’s rules.

In one line

How often a SIF strategy lets investors redeem. Equity strategies may offer daily redemption; hybrid strategies at most twice a week and debt strategies at most once a week. Fund houses may offer less.

The rule

SEBI sets a minimum redemption frequency by category: daily or less often for equity strategies, twice a week or less often for hybrid strategies, and once a week or less often for debt strategies (circular para 3.2; FAQ B45, A15). An equity strategy may choose weekly, monthly or other intervals (A16). Subscription and redemption frequencies may differ (para 7.1.1.2), and both are stated in the ISID.

Questions

Can I redeem a SIF on any day?

Is there a lock-in in a SIF?

There is no uniform lock-in. Any lock-in, maturity, exit load or other restriction depends on the strategy and must be stated in its offer document.
