The five-level risk label every SIF strategy carries, from level 1 (lowest risk) to level 5 (highest). It is set at launch, reviewed every month, and a change is announced by notice.
SIFs depict risk through a pictorial risk meter called the Risk-band, with five levels (circular paras 12.1, 12.2). The level is assigned at launch (para 12.4), evaluated monthly and disclosed on the fund house's and AMFI's websites within 10 days of each month end (para 12.6); a change is communicated by notice-cum-addendum and by email or SMS to unitholders (para 12.5). Each year the level as on 31 March is published, with the number of changes in the year (para 12.7).
